Navigation redesign

I led a team of three developers on a full rebuild of the main navigation on dojo.tech, the part of the site every visitor uses to find their way around.

The problem

The navigation appears on every page of dojo.tech, so it shapes how every visitor finds their way around the site. It needed rebuilding from the ground up.

What I did

As technical lead, I led a team of three developers through the rebuild of the navigation on the main site, from the components to the release.

The old navigation was a row of plain text links. The new one turns each section into a dropdown, with chevrons to show there’s more underneath, and the open menu is a full-width panel. Under Products, for example, Dojo’s card machines appear as image cards, so people can see what they’re choosing before they click.

The result

The new navigation went live across the main dojo.tech site.
